Child Welfare Social Work Supervisor - Graham County, NC: Supervision of child welfare social Workers that provide direct and/or indirect services to clients. Supervisor assigns cases to subordinates, coordinates work flow operations, and supervises staff through case reviews. Supervisor is responsible for staff training, resolving problems and ensuring that quality services are provided. Supervisor may provide input to higher level management on administrative, personnel, and budget issues. Supervisory work includes unit planning, organization, direction, training, reviewing work and setting work standards, counseling and disciplining. Knowledge of methods and principles of casework supervision and training. Considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices and their application to specific casework and community problems. Minimum Training and Experience Requirements - Master’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a bachelor’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Position is temporary full-time with potential for temporary to permanent. Opening is immediate. Potential for on-call and overtime work.
MR/MI/DD Director - Statesville: This is a very high level administrative and supervisory position involving the supervision and coordination of all MR/MI/DD/Division staff and activities of several group homes. Duties involve direct oversight of Regional Directors who supervise the daily activities of staff in their area providing care for developmentally and/or physically challeneged clints in group homes and/or family based settings. Activities associated with the job include oversight of the recruitment, training and supervision of staff and other resource providers, ensuring compliance with federal and state statutes adn regulations governing the administration of group homes and/or family based services for the disabled, and serving as a liaison with funding sources and governmental agencies. Masters degree preferred, will accept a BA, BS in the behaviorial sciences, developmental disabilities, or relateddiscipline; a minimum of five years of relevant experience working with developmentally and/or physically disabled individuals and families. Out-of-County Foster Care Social Worker - Located throughout North Carolina: The primary purpose of this part time position is to make face to face visits with children that are in foster care and placed outside of their home county in compliance with NC Standards for Child Welfare. Work includes making visits to where the child is placed, attending treatment team meetings and court, contacting collaterals, updating the child's life book, assisting with sibling visitation and providing required documentation to the department of social services who has custody of the child. Must be skilled in easily establishing rapport with children and agency staff and preparing written documentation and reports, NC Child Welfare Pre-Service Training and child welfare experience in a county DSS is required. MSW, BSW preferred. Position is for approximately 4-6 hours per month.
Supervised Visitation Social Worker - Located throughout North Carolina: The primary purpose of this position is to supervise foster care visits for the Department of Social Services and to provide detailed observation report of each visit. Requires an in-depth knowledge of family dynamics and the ability to appropriately respond if intervention is needed during the visit to assure the child's safety. MSW, BSW preferred. Duties may include working after 5:00 pm or week-ends. Position is for approximately 4-6 hours per month.
