As the mini-session of the General Assembly fastly approaches us next week, the Social Services Consortium is seeking the assistance of all NCSSA members in regards to Senate Bill 433.Senate Bill 433 has the potential to change the governance structure of all departments of social services across the state AND has the potential to move staff in all of those agencies out from under the umbrella of protection provided by the State Personnel Act. If passed in its current form, DSS employees would be at-will empolyees and could be hired or fired with no just cause or process.
